About Department

 

The Pakistan Water & Power Development Authority  is a publicly owned company that manages water and electricity in Pakistan but does not control thermal power. Tarbela and Mangla dams are among the resources managed by WAPDA. Its main office is in Lahore.

WAPDA has developed Water Vision 2025, a comprehensive $25-33 billion National Water Resource and Hydropower Development Programme. 16,000 MW of hydroelectricity are anticipated to be produced by the Water Vision 2025 projects. Preventing water shortages, limiting drought, and boosting water storage for an expanding population are other objectives.
